Our Mission

EmpowerCode is an initiative founded to remove the restrictive presumptions of technology that many have and instead, empower youth in regards to using technology for social change. We believe that technology can be used to spread personal messages and create a powerful sense of belonging within a community.

About Me

Hey! My name is Rohak Jain. I am an aspiring software developer and seek to help the next generation of programmers gain important skills and tools.

Growing up in the Seattle Area, my view of technology has often been restricted to towering skyscrapers, modernized corporate buildings, and complex lines of code. I have always been saddened by the way technology is looked upon, especially in regards to restrictive misconceptions and unfair stereotypes.

This is why I chose to create EmpowerCode and give a voice to youth wanting to challenge these presumptions and rather, create a change in the real world.

Extended Learning in Technology

Our in-person workshops along with our detailed curriculum will collectively educate youth regarding the relevance that technology has to harness social change on a broader scale. Together, we will design applications that can be used to positively enhance the status quo. Examples include a sentiment analysis model for detecting news bias, a course on website creation, and much more! At the end of the day, our mission is to empower youth with the notion that they can use technology, regardless of their ethnic background or gender, to create a tangible impact that can actively take steps in solving pressing real-world issues.
